Having worked in Dubai for 18 months now, we needed a break from the Dubai heat, so decided to head somewhere cold!!
After lots of research - the fun part - we booked a 12 Day motorbike ride in the Himalays, with a company called Ride of my life!! WE then booked a few extra days, on a houseboat, in Srinagar, the capital of Kashmere.
So, we left Dubai on 24 June, arrived in Delhi, caught a bus to another terminal, met with Deon Lombard, Sharons Cousin from London, who would join us on the trip. Then another couple of hours of flying, to Srinagar.
Beautiful surroundings, gracious hosts, good food, great exploring, OK birding and a good rest followed. Then a move, fro Nigeen Lake, To Dal Lake, to meet with the rest of the riding group.
The riding was fantastic, over numerous high alitude mountain passes - - a few of over 17600 ft!!
