So the next chapter of our adventures start, not sure of the exact date but we hope to leave Dubai on Friday 5 May. The longer we take to leave the hotter it is getting, yesterday was already well over 40!
After a rushed trip back to South Africa to sort out final details on that side I arrived back in Dubai early hours of Sunday morning to start packing our bikes. Larry is still going into work on most days but we hope that will come to an end shortly. Bikes have been serviced and new tyres put onto both bikes and we have started the process of applying for our first visa. The last time we travelled through Africa (2011) the worst visa to get was the Ethiopian visa, cost us about R5000 for the two visas. Plus lots of stress and approximately two months of hassle. Yesterday we went to the Ethiopian consulate here in Dubai and at a cost of R1200 it seems that we will have our visas by Tuesday, hold thumbs for us.
Not sure of our routing yet but will keep you updated on where we will be going.
